Pathways
to Learning, an approved provider of CPDUs (Continuing Professional
Development Units) in the
State of Illinois, serves educators throughout the country and works
extensively with teachers throughout the greater Chicago metropolitan
area.
Our
work in classroom management, differentiated learning and wellness is
highly regarded by educators and
administrators for being grounded in theory and practical in application. Some districts require newly hired teachers to take courses with
Pathways to Learning from the outset of their employment.
We are
proud that Pathways
to Learning's commitment to the provision of in-service training,
consulting and
continuing education is helping to meet otherwise unmet needs for
the educational community.
|
 |
Highly
intensive and interactive staff development sessions are personalized
according to the needs of participants. Inservices
conducted in situ for schools and other educational
organizations can be offered across the country.
In addition to teachers, we serve wider professional groups
including librarians, counselors, school psychologists and
administrators.
Our staff development
philosophy is supported by our commitment to help educators and students
lead more respectful, responsible, and cooperatives lives. Sessions are personalized according to
participants' needs within three interrelated strands focused
respectively on classroom management, differentiated learning, and
wellness. |

learning environment.

finding and short circuiting payoffs, choices and
consequences, conflict resolution, communication with parents, helping
special needs students. |
|
Differentiated Learning ~
Focus is placed on creating learning environments that teach for
understanding and support the unique and varied needs of learners with
scaffolded brain
compatible practices.
Sample topics:
how memory works, learning styles, multiple intelligences, implications
of brain research, designing curriculum around essential questions,
active-involvement and patterning strategies, resetting the clock of
attention, managing appropriately scaffolded activities.

Wellness ~
Participants empower themselves to be as emotionally and
physically healthy as possible so they can personally and professionally
support their students to do likewise. These skill sets are
aligned with mandated Illinois social-emotional standards.
Sample topics:
finding one's belief system and values, understanding the relationship
between thoughts, emotions and actions, managing emotions and stress, setting goals,
communicating effectively, learning how to take care of one's self as
well as help others care for themselves. |
